Mastercard Passkey on N-Genius delivers stronger security and a smoother checkout experience for your customers.

Overview

Passkey replaces traditional passwords and OTPs with biometric authentication (such as fingerprint or facial recognition). It provides a secure, frictionless way for customers to approve payments when shopping online with their Mastercard cards.

Enablement

Available across the entire N-Genius merchant base (all regions, sectors, and merchant sizes).
E-commerce team will enable Passkey on the N-Genius portal.
Once enabled, customers paying with Mastercard will be invited to register for Passkey after completing a successful OTP-authenticated transaction.
After registration, subsequent Mastercard transactions will be authenticated with biometrics only.

Pilot Merchant Selection
Pilot merchants are identified with support from Relationship Managers.
Merchant Communication
Merchants receive comms about the introduction of Passkey.
Feature Enablement
The E-com team enables Mastercard Passkey for the merchant in the N-Genius portal.
Customer Registration
- Customer completes a purchase using Mastercard.
- After OTP authentication, they are prompted to register for Passkey.
- Registration binds their biometric method to their Mastercard.
Biometric Authentication
For all future Mastercard purchases, the customer authenticates using biometrics (fingerprint or face scan) instead of OTP.
