Pay with Aani

Aani offers a fast, secure, and convenient way for customers in the UAE to make payments directly from their bank account — no cards required. When customers select Aani at checkout, they are redirected to the Aani app to approve the payment using their registered mobile number or other identification method.

How it Works

The Aani payment flow is quick and straightforward. The customer initiates the payment on your website, approves it in their Aani app, and is then redirected back to the merchant site once payment is confirmed.

Below is the full step-by-step flow with visual examples.

Step 1: Choose Aani at Checkout

Customers begin by selecting Aani under “Other Payment Options” on the checkout page.

  • The customer selects Pay with Aani.
  • They are prompted to choose an identification method (e.g., phone number, alias, or Aani ID).
Customer selects “Aani” as the payment method on the checkout page.

Step 2: Enter Identification Details

After selecting Aani, the customer enters their registered mobile number linked to their Aani account.

  • Example format: +971 5XXXXXXXX
  • The page indicates that they will be redirected to the Aani app to confirm the transaction.
Customer enters their Aani-linked phone number on the payment page and taps the “Pay” button.

Step 3: Redirect to the Aani App

Once the customer taps Pay, they are redirected to a waiting screen while the connection to the Aani app is established.

  • The screen displays:
“Almost there! Please keep this page open and launch the Aani application to accept the payment.”
  • The customer must switch to their Aani mobile app to approve the transaction.

  • Merchant name and address are displayed (e.g., MY OLD SHOES, PO BOX 4487 DUBAI).
  • The amount to be paid is shown (e.g., AED 0.10).
  • The customer confirms by tapping Approve.
  • The app displays the connected bank account (e.g., FAB AE**0002).

Step 5: Payment Confirmation

Once the payment is approved in the Aani app, the customer is redirected back to the merchant site where they see a success message.

  • The confirmation message includes:
    • Payment amount
    • Reference number
    • Transaction date
  • A green checkmark indicates that the payment was successful.

Notes

  • Customers must have the Aani app installed or have AANI linked to their UAE bank account.
  • The phone number or alias entered during checkout must match the one registered with Aani.
  • The payment is processed instantly and confirmed in real time.
  • Aani is available to participating UAE banks supporting instant account-to-account transfers.
